What We Believe

1. We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; John 14:15-21); we believe Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man (Matthew 1:18-23).

2. We believe the Scriptures of Old and New Testaments are verbally inspired by God; that it is absolutely true and trustworthy in everything it asserts; and the supreme and final authority in faith and life. (2 Peter 1:20-21, 2 Timothy 3:16-17).

3. We believe man was created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26); he sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which is eternal separation (Ezekiel 18:20; Isaiah 59:2); and that all human beings are born into a fallen world characterized by disobedience which is the source of all sinful acts in thought, word and deed. (Romans 3:23; 1 John 1:8).

4. We believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and that all who receive Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood. (Romans 5:6-9).

5. We believe man’s response to God’s offer of salvation involves faith in Jesus Christ (Galatians 2:15-16), repentance from sin (Acts 3:19), public confession that Jesus Christ is Lord (Romans 10:9-10), water baptism by immersion (Romans 6:3-4, Galatians 3:26-27), and a walk consistent with the teachings of Jesus (1 John 2:6). This response is based upon God’s grace working in the believer and not upon the strength of his or her own merits (Ephesians 2:8-9).

6. We believe in the bodily resurrection of Christ and His ascension to heaven (1 Corinthians 15:3-8), and in His present work as High Priest and Advocate (Hebrew 4:14-16).

7. We believe in the personal return of Jesus Christ. (Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

8. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved to everlasting life in the presence of God, and the unsaved to everlasting separation from God. (Acts 24:15; John 3:16; Revelation 20:15).
